Ford has revealed its Fiesta-based EcoSport SUV at the technology industry's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Although the EcoSport is already on sale in developing markets such as Brazil and India, this is the first time we've seen the car in European specification.
The big news is that the EcoSport features several innovative new technologies, such as 'SYNC Applink' which, as the name suggests, allows the driver to connect their smartphone to the Ecosport's internal systems, allowing them to active apps via voice-control.
Also fitted to the new Ecosport will be 'SYNC Emergency Assistance', a system which contacts the local emergency services in the event of an accident and relays information such as the exact whereabouts of the vehicle to improve response times.
The EcoSport will be available with a range of petrol and diesel engines including a 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost unit.
Prices for the EcoSport will start from £14,000 when it goes on sale in the UK early next year.
