A new 1.3-litre DIG-T petrol engine has been added to the Nissan Qashqai range.
Available in both 138bhp and 158bhp outputs, the new power plant brings reduced fuel consumption and lower CO2 to the ever-popular SUV. Both are fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox, with a seven-speed DCT transmission to become available on the more powerful engine from November. At 121 g/km, the 138bhp 1.3-litre engine emits 8 g/km less CO2 than the 1.2-litre unit it replaces in the range. Compared to the outgoing 1.6-litre engine, the new 158bhp 1.3-litre DIG-T reduces CO2 emissions from 134g/km to 121g/km.
Prices for models powered by the new engine start from £19,595 on-the-road for the Qashqai Visia 1.3 DIG-T 140, rising to £28,595 for the range-topping Tekna 1.3 DIG-T 160.
