An old British favourite is set to return to the shelves following a re-launch.
Duckhams oils are making a comeback, initially focusing on lubricants for the classic car market but with plans in place to quickly expand into motorsport and modern vehicles.
The Duckhams brand has been part of British motoring heritage since 1899, developing Europe’s first Multigrade oil – the famous Duckhams Q – in 1951. It was Duckhams Q that made the Mini possible, providing Morris with oil capable of lubricating both engine and gearbox. The brand reached over 60 export markets across the globe, becoming part of BP in the 1970s.
Martin Gough of brand owners Alexander Duckham & Co Ltd, said: “As car fans, we are fiercely proud of our contribution to British motoring heritage. We have painstakingly recreated the green colour to Duckhams Q20w-50 Multigrade that everyone knows and trusts, but have ensured that the formulation has moved with the times to offer the latest technology to protect cherished engines, both out on the road and in winter hibernation.”
Duckhams will re-launch at the NEC Classic Motorshow in November, initially with two mono-grades, SAE30 and SAE40, and the multi-grade Duckhams Classic Q20w-50.
