The Datsun Go+ has been revealed ahead of its launch in the Indonesian market next year.
The Go+ is the second model in Nissan's recently-revived Datsun line-up, following on from the Go hatchback which was launched earlier this year.
Like the Go, the Go+ is fitted with a 1.2-litre petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox; however, unlike the Go, the Go+ is a seven-seater, which Datsun claims is designed for Indonesian families.
Strictly-speaking, the Go+ is actually a 5+2 seater, with the third row of seats suitable only for children and very short adults; however, considering that the Go+ shares it wheelbase with the smaller Go, it's pretty impressive that Datsun has managed to squeeze in an extra two seats.
Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn said: "We're going to come with a product which is modern, extremely fuel efficient -- it's going to be the best in its category -- and at a very affordable price."
Although Nissan has yet to reveal what this price might be, it has confirmed that the Go+ will sell for under 100 million Indonesian rupiah (around £5,500) which for a seven-seat MPV is pretty good value.
Unfortunately, Nissan has no plans to sell the Go+, or indeed any Datsun products, in the UK for fear of stealing sales away from Dacia, the budget brand owned by Nissan's partner Renault.
