Over 80 enticing classic motors will go under the hammer next week as a new dedicated classic auction house is launched at Silverstone.
Included in the sale conducted by CCA auctions is a classic Mini with less than 200 miles on the clock. The 2001 Mini Cooper was the last of its type to be sold in Scotland, has covered just 182 miles since new, and it expected to fetch up to £16,000.
Other stand out lots include a 3.8-litre 1993 BMW M5 Nurburgring which is estimated to fetch between £11,000 and £13,000, and a bright orange 1972 Opel GT 1.9L which has recently undergone a £21,000 restoration and is expected to sell for between £10,500 and £11,500. A 1957 Volkswagen T2 pick up/racing car transporter is expected to attract a lot of interest, as is a 1989 Mercedes-Benz 190E Cosworth purchased new by Lord Lichfield and which is offered for sale with no reserve.
The specialist auction house has been created to cater for the sale of ‘everyman’ classics up to the £25,000 mark, with a commission rate of just six per cent, it will hold its inaugural sale at 2pm on 3 March with classic car expert and TV personality Quentin Willson hammering away the first lot.
Joe Watts, auction manager of CCA, said: “It is very exciting to have had so many fantastic classic cars consigned into our first sale. As the classic car market thrives, we’re confident that CCA will provide a fresh and affordable outlet for classic car enthusiasts.”
