Bentley has revealed sketches of its new Mulsanne Convertible, following the car's secret debut at this weekend's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

The Bentley was revealed to a select group of customers at a behind-closed-doors event and no one outside that room has seen the car in the metal.

The sketches show the design of the new car which is inspired by the Park Ward S1 Drophead Coupe of the 1950s. A steeply raked windscreen, a traditional fabric roof and a side crease running the length of the car distinguish the new model from the standard Mulsanne.

Bentley has been tight-lipped on the subject of the engine; however, expect the Mulsanne to come with the same 6.75-litre V8 as its saloon cousin.

Bentley has not revealed the official price list for the new Mulsanne Drophead, but expect it to cost around the £250,000 mark.
