Audi has unveiled a brand new version of the A3. The four door saloon is set to be expanded to provide more space and comfort.

The German manufacturer has already introduced the A3 Cabriolet as well as the three door and the A3 Sportback. Now it has announced that it will bring out a new saloon model in 2012. This is mainly due to the high demand in Russia and China.

The saloon is smaller than the Volkswagen Jetta; however it will be lower, wider and shorter than the A4, measuring 4,400mm long, 1,840mm wide and 1,390mm tall. The new A3 will have LED rear lights as well as a sculpted crease along the shoulder, along with a large shield shaped single grille frame that reflects Audi’s new design outlook.

The new A3 range will feature an RS3 with a 402bhp 2.5-litre five cylinder engine. The four-wheel-drive version will also have a seven speed S tronic gearbox and launch control. The new A3 will be the first Audi to feature the new MQB platform, which is set to underpin a range of future models.
