Audi has revealed a new 518bhp version of the new A3 saloon, which is set to make its world debut at the Worthersee tuning event later this month.
Based on the S3 saloon, the new car goes under the name A3 Clubsport Quattro. And although it's officially described as a concept, the new car previews the upcoming RS3, which is slated for introduction next year.
Under the bonnet, the Clubsport Quattro gets a highly-tuned version of Audi's five-cylinder 2.5-litre direct-injection petrol engine. Audi has fitted a larger turbocharger, revised intake and exhaust systems and a new intercooler, and as a result, power is up by an astonishing 183bhp over the standard spec engine to 518bhp. Torque is also up by 112lb-ft, bringing the total to 443lb-ft.
The power will be sent to the road via a seven-speed double-clutch S-tronic gearbox and Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system. The result of this is that the Clubsport will get from 0-62mph in just 3.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 193mph.
The ride height has also been lowered by 10mm and the car sits on huge 21-inch wheels. Under the wheels you'll find carbon-ceramic brakes with multi-pot aluminium callipers which work in conjunction with an air brake function which is incorporated into the rear spoiler.
The car is finished in Magnetic Blue and features a heavily reworked front bumper. There's also carbon-fibre for the bonnet, sills and front blade, a huge rear diffuser and LED headlights.
