Prestigious car manufacturer and James Bond favourite Aston Martin has announced that they will debut the first production V12 Zagato at the Kuwait Concours d’ Elegance on 15-18 February.
The Aston Martin V12 Zagato is an exclusive car. It has been built in strictly limited numbers of up to 150 cars and is due for first customer deliveries later this year after been hand assembled at the brand’s headquarters in Gaydon, England.
The car is based on the V12 Vantage and features a beautiful hand-crafted aluminium and carbon fibre body along with a bespoke interior.
The V12 Zagato has a 6.0-litre V12 engine producing 510 bhp and 420 lb ft of torque. Launched in late May 2011 at the Villa D’Este Concours on Lake Como, Italy, the V12 Zagato was awarded the coveted Design Award for the concept and prototypes class.
The Kuwait Concours d’Elegance, is now in its third successive year, but is alrady establishing itself as a major part of the luxury car ‘season.’
The event plays host to what is described as the best ‘automotive art’ from around the world.
“We are excited to show the new V12 Zagato for the first time in production form at the Kuwait Concours d’Elegance,” said Dr Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin.
“Over 50 years since the introduction of the iconic DB4GT Zagato, Aston Martin and Zagato have collaborated to create this modern interpretation which remains true to the original focus of craftsmanship, performance and exclusivity.”
As well as the Aston Martin V12 Zagato going on display a number of additional rare Aston Martins from private owners from around the world are likely to go on display at Kuwait Concours d’Elegance too, including an original DB4GT Zagato from just over 50 years ago.
The V12 Zagato is not cheap: it is currently being offered for sale at £330,000 (excluding local taxes).
