Aston Martin’s first ever SUV has begun final testing ahead of launch.
The Aston Martin DBX will be unveiled by the end of this year, and has entered final track testing in readiness. High-performance track evaluation of the 542bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8-powered DBX is now ongoing at Silverstone and the Nurburgring in order to finalise the SUV’s performance figures.
Aston Martin’s engineering team are reporting cornering speeds comparable to the Vantage sportscar and a braking performance exceeding that of the DBS Superleggera GT. The DBX is recording sub 8-minute laps of the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife, and although final top speed and acceleration figures are still being finalised it has repeatedly broken through the 180mph mark in testing.
“The next few months will be extremely important to us, as we continue to hone the powertrain credentials and a dynamic setup that will help make this the most exciting SUV on the market”, commented Aston Martin’s Chief Engineer Matt Becker.
