The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 has boosted its sporty credentials even further by setting a new lap record at the legendary Laguna Seca circuit in America.
The 592bhp V8-powered beast lapped the 2.2-mile circuit in 1min 37.54sec, a new record for a four-door production car. The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 also claimed the same record for the Nürburgring Nordschleife in November last year.
Priced from £149,995, the XE SV Project 8 is capable of 200mph, and 0-60mph in just 3.3 seconds. Just 300 examples are to be made, all of them hand-built at Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations in Coventry.
Its lightweight aluminium-intensive monocoque is modified to accommodate the specially tuned, supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine and a bespoke rear differential, while other special features include F1-style ceramic wheel bearings, adjustable ride height and adjustable camber. Aerodynamic and suspension upgrades include a ‘Track’ mode for maximum downforce, and improvements to the damping, throttle and steering response.
