Car maker Volvo will reveal the all-new Volvo V40 at this year Geneva Motor Show.
On 6th March Volvo plans to unveil its new creation, the all-new Volvo V40, at a press conference at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
"The all-new V40 is the first new model that is fully developed according to our human-centric, Designed Around You strategy. Charged with an outstanding set of high-tech features it definitely will give our toughest competitors a headache," commented Stefan Jacoby, President and CEO of Volvo Car Corporation.
Jacoby added that thanks to input from customers all over the world the most compact V-range model features what Volvo claims is an outstanding blend of design, safety and versatility.
"The car is loaded with features that buyers of modern luxury cars want," he explained.
A driving pleasure
Volvo is keen to highlight that the V40 creates driving pleasure for users thanks to its chassis, which is designed to offer an 'agile and connected experience.'
All engine versions of this model feature start-stop and braking energy regeneration. The all-new Volvo V40 range starts with a diesel engine with CO2 emissions of just 94g/km and will be topped off with a turbocharged T5 petrol engine which will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 6.7 seconds.
Aside from being environmentally-friendly and powerful, it is also safe. Amongst other features, the car includes the Volvo Car Corporation's groundbreaking Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake.
This model has further developed the City Safety low-speed collision avoidance system, which is able to operate at speeds up to 31mph (currently 19mph on other models). Other safety features include a world-first pedestrian airbag, Lane Keeping Aid with auto steering and an ingenious Park Assist Pilot that makes parallel parking easy.
Håkan Abrahamsson, Vehicle Line Director C Cars & V40 Vehicle Programme Manager, said that the all-new V40 is the most intelligent and safe Volvo model so far.
“All its features are designed around the driver, helping him or her stay alert and well informed to avoid collisions and dangerous situations.”
