Alfa Romeo has confirmed the pricing details for the new and updated MiTo supermini, which is on sale now.

The new MiTo, which benefits from a range of cosmetic tweaks, extra equipment and a new engine, starts from £14,350, with prices rising to just under £19,000 for the 170bhp Quadrifoglio Verde model.

On the outside, the new MiTo gets a new front grille, titanium grey headlamp and tail lamp surrounds, tinted rear windows, a sports rear bumper and a range of new exterior colour options.

Inside, the changes are more marked. There's a new dashboard, better plastics and Alfa Romeo's new Uconncet five-inch touchscreen infotainment system which includes Bluetooth, voice recognition, USB and aux-in ports, sat-nav and steering wheel remote controls.

There are four trim levels on offer: Spint, Distinctive, Sportiva and Quadrifoglio Verde. All models get stop-start, air-conditioning, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear knob, electric windows and mirrors, seven airbags, front fog lamps, a rear spoiler and alloy wheels.

Distinctive models get bigger 17-inch alloys, cruise control, rear parking sensors and a front centre armrest, while Sportiva models add 18-inch alloys, and a range of extra cosmetic tweaks. Top-of-the-range Quadrifoglio Verde gets red Brembo brake callipers, active suspension and bespoke sports seats.

The engine line-up now includes a tweaked version of Fiat's 0.9-litre TwinAir unit which boasts an extra 20bhp more than the previous TwinAir engine. As before, there's a choice between the TwinAir, a 1.4-litre petrol with either 135bhp or 170bhp in the Quadifoglio Verde, a 1.3-litre diesel with 85bhp and a 1.6-litre diesel with 120bhp.
