Alfa Romeo has revealed its Launch Edition model of the new 4C sports car at the Geneva Motor Show.

Just 1,000 4C Launch Editions will be built and only 400 will be sold in Europe. Each model will be individually numbered and will cost £52,000.

Finished in either Alfa Red or Carrara White, the Launch Edition is distinguished from the standard 4C by its carbon-fibre bodykit, bi-LED headlights, unique badging, darker alloy wheels and additional front air intakes.

Launch Edition models also come with a sports exhaust system, tweaked suspension and coloured brake callipers.

Under the extremely pretty bodywork, the 4C is fitted with a 1.75-litre 237bhp four-pot turbocharged engine, coupled to Alfa's TCT double-clutch gearbox. 0-62mph takes just 4.5 seconds and the top speed is -- and I quote -- "in excess of 250km/h [155mph]."

On the inside, the 4C's sports seats are trimmed in a combination of leather and Alcantara. Red Launch Editions also get red stitching on the steering wheel, handbrake, mats, door handles and seats.

The Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition is available to order now. Prices for the standard 4C have yet to be announced.
