A 1961 Triumph Herald with just 20 miles on the clock is expected to fetch between £12,000 and £15,000 when it goes up for auction this weekend.
8174 RO is virtually brand new, having covered an average of just 600 yards a year since it rolled off the Standard-Triumph production 52 years ago, and still bears it original 1961 £15 tax disc.
The Triumph is to be auctioned this Saturday by East Anglian Motor Auctions in Wymondham, Norfolk.
The Herald was delivered by trailer to its first lady owner back in 1961 but was never driven. Years later, the dealer who originally sold the car was called by the woman's family to say that she had died and to ask whether he would like to buy the car back.
When he went to see it, he discovered that it had not been driven and decided to preserve the car intact as part of his personal collection.
Also up for auction will be two Triumph Dolomites, each with around 80 miles on the clock, and a 1960 Herald which has done 3,750 miles.
