Overall the Toyota Yaris T Spirit 1.33 VVT-i Multidrive S 5dr is the perfect vehicle for the newbie driver or for those that wish to invest in a nippy but spacious small family car. The Yaris' looks have been refreshed, adding a more hip appeal to the previously dated vehicle.

PROS:  Good looking, reliable, fun to drive, low running costs

CONS:  Cheap feeling interior, not as desirable as many of its rivals

Behind the Wheel

The Toyota Yaris T Spirit 1.33 VVT-i Multidrive S 5dr is great small family car, but one for those that require just a little more space than your average small car offers. Despite its miniscule 1.33-litre engine, the Toyota Yaris T Spirit 1.33 VVT-i Multidrive S 5dr is still pretty speedy around town, managing 0-62mph in 11.7 seconds and a top speed of 109mph.

The ride is very good and the short wheelbase means that the Yaris is quick to change direction.

Looks & Equipment

Toyota have certainly tried a little harder in the looks department when it comes to the Toyota Yaris T Spirit 1.33 VVT-i Multidrive S 5dr. This model has been angled more towards the younger generation and even comes complete with rear parking sensors as standard, metallic paint as an option, electric front mirrors, electric front windows and alloy wheels.

The new Yaris is much better looking than its predecessor and its previously stocky image has been replaced with angular lights and tight lines. Although you couldn’t call the Yaris striking, it certainly now appears to be subtly attractive.

The full-length panoramic glass roof of the top-end T Spirit floods the vehicles with light, which is a nice addition on sunny days.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

The Toyota Yaris T Spirit 1.33 VVT-i Multidrive S 5dr offers a roomy interior. Toyota have certainly done their best to create as much space as possible. As well as being able to comfortably fit both front and rear passengers inside; there is also a good amount of headroom.

On top of this, the boot also comes with a generous amount of space which makes it a little easier to pack both the kids and the shopping inside. The new Yaris is 100mm longer than the previous model.

The Yaris has always been a reliable model and the Toyota Yaris T Spirit 1.33 VVT-i Multidrive S 5dr should be no different and is supplied with a five year/100,000 mile warranty. With an overall 5 star Euro NCAP rating, the Yaris should also be very safe.

Value for Money

The Toyota Yaris T Spirit 1.33 VVT-i Multidrive S 5dr is priced at £15,385 which makes it the most expensive model in the current Yaris lineup. The cheaper models, while less luxurious, arguably make much more financial sense.

On the plus side, running costs should be low. You should get 55.4mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 118g/km put the Yaris into a very low VED band: C.
