The Grand Vitara develops 166bhp at 6000rpm and 168lb-ft of torque at 3800rpm. 62 mph arrives in 11.7 seconds and flat out you'll be doing 117mph.
The Grand Vitara is a relatively competent off-road performer, however it is dreadful on the blacktop. The whole car pitches and wallows through corners and over rough roads, there is absolutely no feel to the steering whatsoever and the cabin wouldn't have been much noisier if they'd have put the engine on the back seat. Very poor indeed.
The Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.4 SZ5 5dr is a handsome, well-proportioned car. Inside, you get a CD player, climate control, cruise control, electric windows front and rear, leather upholstery, electrically folding door mirrors and remote central locking as standard. It also comes with alloy wheels, an immobiliser and front fog lights.
The interior feels well made but the quality of some of the interior plastics is very low.
There is more space in the rear seats in this model than there is in the equivalent three-door. The boot is also bigger, providing 398 litres of room with the rear seats in place. The rear seats roll forward and stack behind the front seats to increase load capacity to 758 litres.
Suzukis have a good reputation for reliability and the car comes with a three year 60,000 mile warranty.
The Grand Vitara 2.4 SZ5 5dr comes with six airbags as well as ABS, stability control and ISOFIX child-seat mountings.
At £20,950 the Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.4 SZ5 5dr is cheaper to buy than many of its rivals and unlike many of them, it really can handle itself off-road. However, you'll only get 31.4mpg and road tax will be pricey under VED band K. There are much better cars out there and because of this, the Vitara fails to make a compelling case for itself.
Soft-roaders are commonplace now, but in this medium sized 4X4 class the Suzuki Grand Vitara 1.6 SZ3 actually comes with real off-road ability too, unlike some of its competitors. It’s got bags of ...
The Grand Vitara is rubbish. It offers good off-road capabilities at a low price but that's it. There are much better cars out there.
Don't bother. The Grand Vitara is thoroughly outclassed by all of its main competitors. It's good off-road but is hopeless at pretty much everything else.
