PROS: The sports version offers a significant amount of body control and has an engine with good efficiency.
CONS: The car feels a little slow. Those expecting excitement behind the wheel in their family estate should look elsewhere.
The Seat Exeo ST Sport comes in the shape of a larger family estate with a sporty edge and front-wheel-drive. Providing you opt for a sports suspension, the Seat Exeo ST Sport handles itself pretty well. The diesel engine offers a good performance but it isn’t mind blowing, which is why it is more suited those that aren't looking for a huge performance.
The comfort suspension package isn’t actually that comfortable at all. Occupants tend to bounce around a lot and the vehicle allows for too much body roll. On the plus side, the fully adjustable seats are very impressive.
Producing 258 lb-ft torque power at 1750-2500 rpm, and 168 bhp (170 ps) at 4200 rpm, the Seat Exeo ST feels sporty and fairly fast. 0-62 mph takes a total of 8.6 seconds, which is quite good considering the size of the estate and the top speed is 139 mph.
The styling feels very familiar, especially regarding the side profile. A certain amount of effort has been made in order to make the Seat Exeo ST Sport Tech look like part of the current Seat family.
The interface system makes the vehicle’s stereo easy to use on the go, it also offers a modern feel.
The Seat Exeo ST Sport Tech comes with power steering, central locking, alloy wheels, electric front windows, electric door mirrors and rear parking sensors as standard. Other equipment includes the likes of cruise control, sat nav, MP3 connectivity, a CD player and Bluetooth. The Exeo ST Sport Tech offers climate control instead of air con and metallic paint can be purchased as an optional extra.
The Exeo ST comes with stability control, an alarm and immobilizer, plus driver, passenger and front side airbags as standard.
The space is impressive; this regards both passenger space and the cavernous boot, which offers 442 litres and 1354 litres when the rear seats are down. The estate is a practical car which seats five comfortably and has five doors for easy access.
The Seat Exeo ST Sport Tech 2.0 TDI CR (170ps) 5dr costs £25,650.
Running costs are low with a combined average of 52.3 mpg and CO emissions of 142 g/km.
It is a good option for those that wish to invest in a no-nonsense model that’s robust, efficient, solid, safe and reliable, with a decent level of kit. The estate is highly practical and will make a great family car.
