PROS: A practical estate family car with loads of room in the boot and good, low running costs.
CONS: If you pick the wrong suspension, expect the car to pitch and roll a little. It costs a lot extra than the saloon Exeo and the space is not as extensive as it could be in a family estate car.
The Seat Exeo ST SE 2.0 TDI CR 5dr’s diesel engine offers an adequate performance but it isn’t mind blowing. With a sports suspension, the car handles itself pretty well, although without it the car can experience body roll on corners. The comfort suspension package isn't that comfortable at all. Occupants tend to bounce around a lot and the vehicle allows for too much body roll. On the plus side, the fully adjustable seats are impressive.
Producing 236 lb-ft torque power at 1750-2500 rpm, and 141 bhp at 4200 rpm, the Seat Exeo ST is a relatively good performer for its size. It travels from 0-62 mph in 9.6 seconds and has a top speed of 130 mph.
A certain amount of effort has however been made in order to make the Seat Exeo ST SE 2.0 TDI CR 5dr look like part of the current Seat family.
The interface system makes the vehicle’s stereo easy to use on the go, it also offers a modern feel.
The Seat Exeo ST SE comes with power steering, central locking, alloy wheels, electric front windows, electric door mirrors and rear parking sensors as standard. Other equipment includes cruise control, MP3 connectivity, a CD player, and Bluetooth. The Seat Exeo ST SE offers climate control instead of air con and the metallic paint finish, leather seats and sat nav can all be purchased as optional extras.
The Seat comes with stability control, an alarm and immobilizer as standard as well as driver, passenger and front side airbags.
The space inside is favourable, regarding both passenger room and the cavernous boot. The boot space is 442 litres and 1354 litres with the seats down. The estate is spacious, but not as roomy as some rivals however.
The Seat Exeo ST SE 2.0 TDI CR 5dr is £22,350 and comes with plenty of kit (although not as much as the pricier Sport trim version).
Running costs are relatively low with emissions of 132 g/km and a combined average of 56.5 mpg.
