The Jaguar XKR 5.0 Convertible 2dr does come with a superb kit to excite motorists that makes driving and travelling in this car a joy. However, as it has only two doors this is not ideal for a family car or for drivers that are looking to reduce costs as it is not cheap to run or maintain.

PROS:  This convertible by Jaguar seats four occupants and comes equipped with MP3 connectivity, Bluetooth, satellite navigation, rear parking sensors and leather seating.

CONS:  This car will cost consumers a considerable amount of money to purchase plus its fuel economy, road tax and insurance group are expensive, which makes this a costly choice of car.

Behind the Wheel

This car has a fast top speed of 155mph, which is appealing. Plus, the car can travel from 0mph to 62mph in a rapid 4.8 seconds. The car's overall speed and its ability to reach 62mph quickly is no surprise as the car has a massive power output of 510bhp. The car also has a strong torque at 461 lb-ft.

The ride delivered by the XK is a smooth one with sharp, responsive steering and accurate handling. It is also well refined.

Looks & Equipment

The appearance externally is attractive as the car comes already equipped with alloy wheels, but what makes this car all the more impressive is that metallic paint is standard. This style is continued inside with leather seating.

In car entertainment has been well put together. It includes MP3 connectivity and Bluetooth. Also standard are a satellite navigation system and rear parking sensors.

The car does not have air conditioning, but this is compensated as the car does have climate control so that drivers can adjust the in car temperature accordingly. Electric front windows and electric door mirrors are standard features of this vehicle to improve driver and passenger convenience.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

The car's security has been well constructed. It is fitted with central locking, and also has an alarm, which is ideal for protecting the car and any belongings inside it.

The car's safety has been well established, which is particularly important. The model is equipped with a driver airbag, passenger airbag as well as airbags in the front side area of the vehicle. Its warranty is average as it lasts for three years, but the miles are unlimited within this time frame, which is an attractive feature.

When reviewing the car's practicality, its boot space is quite restricted, which is typical of a coupe. When the rear seats are upright there is just 313 litres of additional space. The car seats four occupants, and as the vehicle has two doors it is not convenient for the rear passengers.

Value for Money

The Jaguar XKR 5.0 Convertible 2dr can be bought for £84,550. Whilst it is a convertible that comes fitted with a fantastic variety of entertaining components, as well as safety and security features this is a lot of money for a car that does not reward its drivers with low running and maintenance demand.

The car's fuel economy is below average and the road tax and insurance groups are more costly than other models on the market, which could be unappealing to consumers.
