CarSite Verdict:  4/5
This sporty Jaguar is not the cheapest car to buy or maintain as its fuel efficiency, road tax and insurance grouping will all be costly. However, the car comes with a superb host of safety, security and entertainment features to please its drivers and passengers. It also provides a fast and thrilling driving experience with excellent handling.

PROS:  Metallic paint, rear parking sensors, MP3 connectivity, satellite navigation and Bluetooth are all standard features. The car's safety and security has been well constructed.

CONS:  The car is not efficient to run, so will be costly in terms of fuel. High CO2 emissions mean its road tax group is expensive, as its insurance group is.

Behind the Wheel

The XF delivers a much more sporty ride than its predecessor, although the ride does suffer a little because of this. The model boasts typically excellent handling and road grip, while the ride is smooth and refined. Steering is smooth and responsive, allowing the car to glide effortlessly through corners. The XF is a thrilling car to drive.

This car has a fast top speed of 155mph, and can reach 0mph to 62mph in a rapid 4.9 seconds. The car's overall speed and its ability to reach 62mph quickly is no surprise as the car has a massive power output of 510bhp. The car also has a strong torque at 461 lb-ft.

Looks & Equipment

The XF is a very attractive model and comes equipped with an excellent range of technological features, including satellite navigation and rear parking sensors. Also standard is MP3 connectivity, Bluetooth, climate control and electric front windows and door mirrors.

The car's external appearance is enhanced with alloy wheels and metallic paint.

The interior matches the sleek and stylish exterior, with high quality materials and the inclusion of leather seats.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

The car's reliability is decent and its warranty lasts for three years, with unlimited miles, which is an attractive feature. Its safety has been well established, which is particularly important. The car is equipped with a driver airbag, passenger airbag as well as airbags in the front side area of the vehicle.

In terms of security, it is fitted with central locking and an alarm, which is ideal for protecting the car from theft.

For such a high performing model, the XF is fairly practical, and its boot space is generous. When the rear seats are upright there is a generous 500 litres of additional space, and when the rear seats are folded there is 963 litres. The car seats five occupants, and has four doors for ease of access.

Value for Money

The Jaguar XFR 5.0 V8 Supercharged 4dr can be bought for £65,350. It is expensive and the running costs of the model will also be high, but in return the XF offers an incredibly fun and exciting driving experience and an excellent range of in-car equipment.

The car performs on average at 22.5mpg. The CO2 emissions produced by this vehicle are not impressive at 292g/km. These figures certainly comprimise value for money, but are often the prices which have to be paid for a vehicle of such class and style.
