The XF delivers a fast and thrilling driving experience with a smooth and refined ride. The model is a particularly stylish one, with an attractive interior which boats an excellent range of equipment. Its running costs in terms of fuel economy and road tax are favourable for its class.

PROS:  Rear parking sensors, leather seating, MP3 connectivity, Bluetooth, satellite navigation and cruise control are all standard features of this Jaguar. The car's security and safety measures have been well constructed, and its fuel efficiency is very commendable.

CONS:  Should drivers want the car to be in metallic paint it will come at an additional cost.

Behind the Wheel

The XF delivers a much more sporty ride than its predecessor, although the ride does suffer a little because of this. The model boasts typically excellent handling and road grip, while the ride is smooth and refined. Steering is smooth and responsive, allowing the car to glide effortlessly through corners. The XF is a thrilling car to drive.

This car has a fast top speed of 149mph, which is appealing. Plus, the car can travel quite fast from 0mph to 62mph as the speed was met in 7.1 seconds. The car's overall speed and its ability to reach 62mph quickly is influenced by the engine's power output of 240bhp, and torque, which is 368 lb-ft.

Looks & Equipment

The XF is a very attractive model and comes equipped with an excellent range of technological features, including satellite navigation and rear parking sensors. Also standard is MP3 connectivity, Bluetooth, climate control and electric front windows and door mirrors.

The car's external appearance is enhanced with alloy wheels, while metallic paint can be added for £650.

The interior matches the sleek and stylish exterior, with high quality materials and the inclusion of leather seats.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

The car's reliability is decent and its warranty lasts for three years, with unlimited miles, which is an attractive feature. Its safety has been well established, which is particularly important. The car is equipped with a driver airbag, passenger airbag as well as airbags in the front side area of the vehicle.

In terms of security, it is fitted with central locking and an alarm, which is ideal for protecting the car from theft.

For such a high performing model, the XF is fairly practical, and its boot space is generous. When the rear seats are upright there is a generous 540 litres of additional space, and when the rear seats are folded there is 923 litres. The car seats five occupants, and has four doors for ease of access.

Value for Money

The Jaguar XF 3.0 V6 Diesel Luxury 4dr can be purchased brand new for £36,950. For a car of this class and stature, the price is very favourable. A high-performing engine and an excellent range of equipment add to this, making the XF an attractive proposition.

Moreover, the car has an average fuel economy of 44.8mpg and CO2 emissions of 169g/km. Again, these figures are both very good for a car with such high performance, and as such the model represents great value for money.
