If you are looking for car that delivers style, performance and safety, then the Aston Martin DBS Coupe could be the car for you. With a gorgeous body, beautiful interiors, and a powerful engine, this car is ideal for sports-car lovers.

PROS:  Equipped with a powerful V12 engine, the DBS Coupe is a stylish and powerful machine giving drivers comfort and agility on the road.

CONS:  The car is very expensive for a marginally improved version of the much cheaper DB9. More of a luxury car, it lacks space for luggage as well as an advanced safety kit.

Behind the Wheel

The V12 engine gives the car a massive power boost of 510 bhp at 6500 rpm with torque figures at 420 lb-ft at 5750 rpm. The car is unsurprisingly thirsty at 17.3 mpg, but with a top speed of 191 mph going from 0-62 mph in 4.3 seconds, it delivers as a powerful sports car. The DBS Coupe’s Carbon fibre body panels and carbon ceramic brakes conserve weight giving excellent performance from as little as 2500rpm.

This car provides enjoyable handling even on bumpy roads. Drivers are able to steer with ease as the car feels agile even with its large size. One can cruise comfortably with the gentle rumble of the car’s large tyres.

Looks & Equipment

The DBS Coupe has a stylish exterior indicative of the Aston Martin line and elegant interior features crafted with comfortable leather. The car is equipped with high end technology including a stereo system which can be set up to control an iPod, a Volvo-sourced navigation system, Bluetooth, MP3 connectivity, climate control, cruise control, and rear parking sensors amongst others.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

The car is ideal for light motoring holidays. The front seats have ample room for average sized adults. In contrast to other Aston Martin models, the rear seats have been removed to create more luggage space in addition to the large capacity boot.

The DBS Coupe is packed with gadgets to keep the car on the road but lacks an adequate safety kit. The car’s standard seating provides only two front air bags while sports seats add side bags but no head air bags. The DBS Coupe has a three year warranty with unlimited miles and enjoys good dealer services as well as Aston Martin’s outstanding quality and reliability record.

The car has poor green credentials with a EURO 4 emissions rating and a carbon footprint of 388 g/m.

Value for Money

The DBS Coupe is priced at £180,812. It is very expensive for a car not too different from the much cheaper DB9.

It is a high end car delivering style, quality, comfort, performance and reliability. It maintains its worth as the Aston Martin brand enjoys good dealer services and resale values. Nonetheless, this is a car for those with fat wallets and the means to buy once and continue spending to maintain the car’s performance.
