SsangYong has revealed the first images of the SIV-1 concept car, which will be at the centre of the firm's display at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show.

The SIV-1 is billed as a premium crossover vehicle and is roughly the same size as a Land Rover Freelander. If it makes it into production, it will fit into the SsangYong range as a more upmarket alternative to the existing Korando SUV.

Like the Kia Cross GT we told you about last week, the SIV-1 features four individual seats rather five. It's also a very good looking car and, providing SsangYong don't do anything drastic to it before it goes on sale, it could help to raise SsangYong's profile in the UK market.

The SIV-1 is closely related to the e-XIV concept which was revealed at last year's Paris Motor Show.

It remains to be seen whether SsangYong will put the SIV-1 into production, but given the fact that it must be the best looking car the company has ever designed, it could be a mistake not to.
