The list of filthy rich footballers and their unbelievable autos goes on.
More world class players with more world class cars.
Ian Wright - Audi R8
Arsenal legend and TV personality Ian Wright is no stranger to speed on the road. Here he is about to take his Audi R8 for a spin. Outside of football, the snazzy dresser has presented game shows and worked with prisoners who have a passion for the game.
Jack Wilshere - Ferrari 458
Jack Wilshere is one of Arsenal’s and England’s brightest young talents. He may be only 21 years of age, but he’s certainly no stranger to fame and fortune.
Jermaine Pennant - Aston Martin DBS
Jermaine Pennant is a player who is never far from the tabloid headlines, whether it be for his demonstrations on or off the pitch. The former Liverpool and Arsenal man once served 30 days in prison for drunk driving and had to wear an electronic tag for a further 60, even during matches. He’s now trying to keep a low profile, driving a chrome Aston Martin.
Johan Cruyff - Citroen SM
Another one for the archive. Johan Cruyff, one of football’s greatest and most influential players of the 20th Century, is pictured with a Citroen SM. His unique style of play changed the way footballers learnt the game.
John Terry - Ferrari 458
Chelsea centre back John Terry is no stranger to controversy. A leader and an inspiration on the pitch, some of his off-field actions have been met with significantly less approval from the media. At least he can get away from it all in his Ferrari.
Kaka - Audi Q7
2007 World Player of the Year, Kaka, standing next to his Audi Q7. All of the Real Madrid first team squad recently received Audi vehicles of their choice, from the company which has sponsored the Whites since 2003.
Lionel Messi - Maserati Granturismo MC Stradale
Goal scoring extraordinaire and footballing god Lionel Messi is about to get behind the wheel of his white Maserati Granturismo MC Stradale. The model can reach 187mph and travel from 0 – 62mph in 4.6 seconds. That’s almost as fast as the four-time Ballon d’Or winner can run on the pitch.
Louis Saha - Ferrari 458
Louis Saha, the veteran French striker who has played for Newcastle, Fulham, Manchester United, Everton and Tottenham, admires the inside of his own jet black Ferrari. A true fan of the iconic Italian supercar brand, he named his son after the company’s founder – Enzo.
Marcelo - Audi Q7
Looks like Real Madrid defender Marcelo has opted for the same vehicle as Kaka. His club’s long term sponsors provided a vehicle for each player – the Q7 was clearly a popular choice.
Mario Gotze & Benedikt Howedes - Mercedes A Class
Two of Germany’s brightest young talents, Mario Gotze and Benedikt Howedes, are set to become ambassadors for Mercedes-Benz. Here they are promoting the new A-Class – a car which looks a hell of a lot better than its predecessor.
Martin Skrtel - Bentley Continental
If you look closely – very closely – you might just about be able to make out the face behind the windscreen of this blacked out Bentley. Yes, it’s Liverpool hard man Martin Skrtel. The Slovakia captain uses it to make a swift getaway from the Reds’ training ground.
Mesut Ozil - Ferrari 458
Yet another Ferrari, this one belonging to Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil. He must prefer this to the Q7 which he was given by Audi; it is a little faster in fairness.
Michael Owen - Mercedes C-Class
Michael Owen was one of the greatest strikers England have ever produced. He will forever be remembered for his incredible goal against Argentina in the 1998 World Cup at the tender age of 18, however he might well be recognised as an even better player had injuries not dogged his career. He owns several vehicles, including this Mercedes C63. His Stoke City team mates gave it the egg and flour treatment before his last home game for the club.
Luis Nani - Lamborghini Gallardo
Manchester United winger Luis Nani looks a bit annoyed here; he cannot believe the price for a litre of petrol. Fortunately he earns just about enough to keep his Lamborghini Gallardo running.
Neymar - Audi R8
Brazilian superstar Neymar teaches us all a thing or two about looking cool behind the wheel in his convertible R8. The Santos striker has recently been rewarded for several outstanding seasons with a big money move to Spanish champions Barcelona.
Nicklas Bendtner - Aston Martin DBS
About to get behind the wheel of his Aston Martin DBS, former Arsenal frontman Nicklas Bendtner had no idea what was just around the corner for him. It wasn’t long after he bought it that he wrote it off after crashing into a tree. Luckily, the big Dane managed to escape unscathed.
Patrice Evra - Mercedes SLS
Get those gullwing doors open, Patrice! The Manchester United captain drives one of the most impressive cars in the world. The Mercedes SLS AMG is equipped with a 6.2 litre V8 engine and can hit 60mph from a standstill in just 3.8 seconds. It tops out at 211mph.
