The Seat Alhambra SE 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (140ps) 5dr is a great family vehicle with low running costs and plenty of space for passengers and luggage. It is expensive though and other models like the Peugeot 5008 are cheaper.

The SE trim offers a good amount of equipment too.

PROS:  The Seat Alhambra SE 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (140ps) 5dr comes in the shape of a large family-sized MPV that boasts loads of space. It is economical too, with low running costs.

CONS:  Not exciting to drive and a fair bit more expensive than other MPVs, such as the Peugeot 5008.

Behind the Wheel

The drive is pretty much what you would expect of a larger MPV. The Seat Alhambra SE 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (140ps) 5dr is both safe and predicable at every day speeds. There is a lack of responsiveness in the steering and the engine is more about practicality than pace.

The diesel engine has a top speed of 120 mph, reaching 0-62 mph in 10.9 seconds. It has torque figures of 236 lb-ft at 1750 rpm and 138 bhp (140 ps) at 4200 rpm.

Looks & Equipment

The Seat Alhambra SE 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (140ps) 5dr doesn’t offer much more than any other MPV looks wise and is a little boxy in style. The clean lines do however add a little more of an edge to this large MPV. The sliding doors require deep lines and are cut down the flanks for the runners.

The stereo is very basic and a little uninspiring and the sat nav is placed on an extremely small screen, which can be quite exasperating at times. On the plus side, it is very easy to use.

There is a rear power supply in the back of the Seat Alhambra SE 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (140ps) 5dr, which means passengers in the back can use a range of electronic gadgets.

The Seat Alhambra SE 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (140ps) 5dr comes fitted with power steering, climate control, electric front windows, electric door mirrors, cruise control, rear parking sensors and leather seats. Other features include a sat nav and MP3 connectivity. Metallic paint is available as an optional extra.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

The Seat Alhambra SE comes fitted with a driver airbag, a passenger airbag and front side airbags as standard. Central locking, stability control, an immobiliser and an alarm are also as standard.

The Seat Alhambra has been awarded a total of 4 stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests.

The MPV is extremely practical and allows plenty of space for its passengers. The additional row of seats can be moved backwards and forwards, which means most legroom requirements are met with ease. There is also an ample amount of elbowroom in the cabin. Boot space is 267 litres and a huge 2297 litres with the seats down.

Value for Money

Prices start at £26,605 for theSeat Alhambra SE 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (140ps) 5dr. The main draw is the combination of practicality at low running costs. The combined average is 50.4 mpg and CO2 emissions are at a level of 146 g/km.

The MPV has loads of room for luggage and passengers and drives fairly well too. The price is high though and the cost can be cut by opting for the more basic trim (the S) as this still comes with most of the kit you will need.
