The Seat Alhambra S 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (115ps) 5dr offers a safe, solid drive, but won't generate too much power. The practicality of the MPV is great though, with loads of space for passengers and luggage. On top of this, the efficiency of the engine will mean low running costs.

PROS:  The Seat Alhambra S 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (115ps) 5dr offers practicality, a good amount of kit and great low running costs. A good MPV for family use.

CONS:  The engine is much less powerful than others in the Alhambra series and the price is quite expensive.

Behind the Wheel

Thee drive is what you might expect of a larger MPV. The Seat Alhambra S 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (115ps) 5dr is both safe and predicable at every day speeds. There is a lack of responsiveness in the steering and the engine is more about practicality than pace.

The diesel engine has a top speed of 114 mph and can reach 0-62 mph in 12.6 seconds.
It offers torque figures of 207 lb-ft at 1750-2500 rpm and 113 bhp (115 ps) at 4200 rpm.

Looks & Equipment

The Seat Alhambra S 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (115ps) 5dr is a little boxy in style, but the clean lines do add a little more of an edge to this large MPV. The sliding doors require deep lines and are cut down the flanks for the runners.

The stereo is very basic and a little uninspiring and the sat nav is placed on an extremely small screen, which can be quite exasperating at times. On the plus side, it is very easy to use.

There is a rear power supply in the back of the Seat Alhambra S 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (115ps) 5dr, which means passengers in the back can use a range of electronic gadgets.

The Seat Alhambra S comes fitted with power steering, climate control, electric front windows, alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and electric door mirrors as standard. Other features include a sat nav and MP3 connectivity. Metallic paint and cruise control are available as optional extras.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

The MPV is extremely practical and allows plenty of space for its passengers. The additional row of seats can be moved backwards and forwards, which means most legroom requirements are met with ease. There is also an ample amount of elbowroom in the cabin. Boot space is 267 litres and a huge 2297 litres with the seats down.

The Seat Alhambra S comes fitted with a driver airbag, a passenger airbag and front side airbags as standard. Central locking, stability control, an immobiliser and an alarm are also as standard.

The Seat Alhambra has been awarded a total of 4 stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests.

Value for Money

Prices start at £24,015 for the Seat Alhambra S 2.0 TDI CR Ecomotive (115ps) 5dr. The diesel engine promises a combined average of 50.4 mpg and a CO2 emission rate of 146 g/km, so running costs should be fairly low.

The MPV has great practicality with loads of room for passengers and luggage. The efficient engine and the decent level of kit make this a great value for money car, although there are cheaper alternatives on the market, such as the Peugeot 5008.
