The Infiniti M series is a luxury saloon that has many of the luxury features that executives and people looking for comfortable family cars will be looking for, and the unique looks will help the car to stand out on the road. However, the car does come at a hefty price, and those who are more interested in the performance and driving experience than the exclusive brand will want to consider competitors such as Jaguar and BMW.

PROS:  The M series is a very distinctive saloon car which certainly delivers exclusivity, and not only is it the most powerful but it is also among the cheapest to run in the range, while still delivering a luxurious cabin.

CONS:  The Infiniti brand does bring with it an extra premium because of the luxury and exclusivity, and the practicality of the car and odd braking system do reduce the value of this model.

Behind the Wheel

The driving experience is quite good, and one of the best things about the m35h is that the comfortable ride will take most of the bumps and potholes and keep those in the cabin from feeling them. However, the m35h does feel like a big car when you are behind the wheel, and the car does seem to wallow around the corners rather than dive into them. As you would expect with such a car the driving position is very luxurious and comfortable, and the car can actually remember your settings so that if you do have someone else that will drive, you can get your ideal driving position back quickly.

The 3.5 litre hybrid engine is one that delivers some very impressive performance statistics, delivering some excellent acceleration going from 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds. The top speed of 155mph is also much closer to a sports car than a saloon, and is very competitive in terms of performance with rivals in the same class.

Looks & Equipment

This version of the Infiniti M series actually comes with 20 inch alloy wheels, which combine very well with the distinctive front end of the car. The front is understated and has avoided some of the large air intakes often found on other cars, and the bonnet is flared to bulge above the wheel arches. The back end of the m35h is almost that of a coupe, with the twin chrome exhaust and tidy light layout making for a nice look overall.

There is plenty of equipment to keep everyone happy with this car, with the entertainment console incorporating a full stereo with hard disk drive, and also has satellite navigation and communication equipment. Drivers will also find that cruise control and climate control help the experience, with an electric sunroof and power folding mirrors also adding to the overall feeling of quality.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

In terms of the reliability of the Infiniti, it is a brand which is associated with Nissan so people can be confident that the car will be reliable. It also has six airbags and a range of safety equipment that will help keep the driver and passengers safe in the car.

Practicality is a very important feature of any car, and especially in a luxury saloon which is designed to transport people in comfort. The m35h is spacious and offers plenty of comfort for passengers, but the boot is a little bit on the small side and may not be quite big enough to carry the large luggage of a full family.

Value for Money

One of the most difficult aspects when it comes to recommending the m35h is that the price is a hefty £46,840, which is a little larger than the price for some of its competitors. However, the exclusivity of the brand is something that many people will want, especially in the competitive executive market.

Among the reasons to recommend the m35h, the 3.5 litre hybrid engine delivers some very good fuel efficiency, offering an average 40.4mpg, which is very good compared to some rivals. The insurance cost of the m35h is still fairly expensive, but the resale values are quite good because it is quite a small and desirable brand. The car also comes with a three year warranty, which is standard for cars in this class.
