Kia Motors will collaborate with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment to give a new edge to the popular Sorento.

They plan to reveal the new vehicle one week before the 2015 Australian Open and will invite tennis superstar Rafael Nadal to do the unveiling; Rafael Nadal is the company’s ‘super human’ ambassador and will feature in the advertising campaign.

A video will be released on YouTube and Facebook in December showing Rafael Nadal teaming up with the X-Men to battle it out with the Sentinels – the robots who feature in the latest X-Men film and are threatening the Australian Open 2015. They are defeated by Nadal and the X-Men with the assistance of the ‘Kia X-Car’ which leads the line of defence.

After its unveiling, the ‘Kia X-Car' will be on show at Melbourne Park throughout the tournament, which will take place from 19 January to 1 February. The car will then be showcased in various international motor shows for the fans and they will be invited to guess which X-Men character inspired the car in order to win prizes.

Kia say the latest Sorento is quieter and more refined than ever before; it will go on sale across the globe in early 2015.
