Elvis Presley bought himself a Rolls-Royce from a Beverley Hills dealership to celebrate a new movie deal, John Lennon had his Phantom V re-sprayed in a psychedelic design by a group of Dutch artists, and The Who drummer Keith Moon is supposed to have marked his 21st birthday by driving his Roller into the swimming pool of a Michigan hotel, and now Rolls-Royce Motor Cars are highlighting their place in Rock ‘n’ Roll history with a new special edition model.
The Rolls-Royce Wraith ‘Inspired by Music’ expands on the Bespoke Audio system available as an option on the standard model which was released in 2013, using materials designed to enhance the aural experience. Copper has been used extensively in a nod to its use in the construction of high end audio systems, and is present from the Lyrical Copper exterior paint finish to the copper-effect speaker grilles and copper-coloured door inserts which are set into the leather panniers. The copper theme continues with the dash fascia and seat bullets.
Its Bespoke Audio system underwent a two-year development with sound engineers working in unison with interior designers. The result is a 1300W, 18-channel system, with two bass speakers, seven tweeters, seven mid-range speakers, and a pair of ‘exciter’ speakers in headlining.
The ‘Inspired by Music’ model joins the ‘Inspired by Film’, and ‘Inspired by Fashion’ in the Rolls-Royce Wraith’s limited special edition Bespoke Collection.
“Wraith ‘Inspired by Music’ appeals to those looking to Rolls-Royce for unique and creative motor cars,” said Rolls-Royce Chief Executive Torsten Müller Ötvös. “Its effortlessly cool appearance complements the superior Bespoke Audio system; the contemporary use of copper creates an atmospheric setting for the most encompassing music system on the market,”
