Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles have launched a new limited edition of their popular Amarok pick up.
Named for the desert region which covers vast swathes of South America, the Volkswagen Amarok Atacama is priced from £26,850 + VAT and comes in two versions, both powered by a 178bhp 2.0-litre BiTDI diesel.
The entry-level model has a six-speed manual transmission with selectable 4MOTION four-wheel drive, while the eight-speed automatic version with permanent 4MOTION is priced from £28,695.
The Volkswagen Amarok Atacama comes finished in either Candy White, Horizon Blue, or Deep Black, and features bi-xenon headlights, black rear styling bars, black rear bumper with integrated step, Atacama B-pillar decals, and 19-inch alloy wheels, while the rear load bed features a Durabed protective coating. Inside the Atacama you will find leather upholstery, leather multi-function steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, SatNav, and dual-zone air conditioning. This standard package can be added to with a range of optional extras including towbars, tonneau covers, waterproof seat covers, and chrome fog lamp surrounds.
Circa 500 of the special edition Amarok Atacama are expected to find UK homes, with the model available to order now at approved Volkswagen Van Centres.
