The new Volvo V60 and S60 Polestar have been revealed ahead of their official UK launch next June.
The new performance variants of Volvo's S60 saloon and V60 estate will both be powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine which develops 345bhp and 369lb-ft of torque. Polestar has fitted the engine with a new intercooler, a new twin-scroll turbo and a stainless steel performance exhaust system.
As a result 0-62mph takes just 4.9 seconds and flat out both cars will do a limited 155mph.
Polestar has also tuned the chassis, adding stiffer springs, Ohlins performance shock absorbers and 20-inch Polestar alloy wheels with performance tyres. The brakes have also been improved, with new ventilated discs and six-piston Brembo callipers, while the power is delivered to the road via a Haldex all-wheel drive system and a six-speed flappy-paddle automatic gearbox.
In addition to the performance and chassis modifications, Polestar has also given the car a new front splitter, a rear spoiler and a rear diffuser.
On the inside, the Polestar gets a new steering wheel with sports seats finished in new materials and new Polestar colours.
Christian Dahl, CEO of Polestar, said: "We are proud to present the S60 and V60 Polestar. A car developed for those who share our passion at Polestar: That driving really matters and that a true driver’s car should enable you to enjoy driving all year, on all roads and in all weather conditions.
"This is a driver's car for real life."
More details, including the prices and specifications, will be released next year.
