Volvo has teased a new estate concept in a series of preview images ahead of the car's debut at next week's Geneva Motor Show.
Although the concept is understood to preview the next generation of Volvo's estate cars, such as the V70, which is due for replacement next year, the concept is a three-door shooting-brake model in the same vein as the legendary P1800ES of the 1970s.
The Concept Estate is the third in a series of concepts revealed by the Swedish manufacturer, following on from the Concept Coupe and the Concept XC Coupe, which were revealed at the Frankfurt and Detroit motor shows, respectively.
The photos give little away about the design of the new concept; however, they do show that the car will get large rectangular exhaust pipes, large alloy wheels and a boot spoiler. Volvo's new corporate front-end is also likely to feature.
Like the Concept Coupe and the Concept XC Coupe, the new Concept Estate is likely to be based on Volvo's new SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform which will underpin the next-generation XC90.
The Geneva Motor Show begins on 4 March.
