Visitors to the Geneva Motor Show in March will see the first glimpses of Vauxhall’s latest hot hatch.
Based on the latest Corsa, the VXR version has seen improvements to its interior and exterior design and hopes to lead the field in high power small hot hatches when it hits the showrooms in May.
The enhancements are said to make the Corsa VXR capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in 6.8 seconds and reaching an impressive top speed of 143 mph. Vauxhall say that the latest model can produce its 245Nm of torque from lower revs than previous models; this will make the Corsa VXR perform most effectively between 50-75mph which will take 6.6 seconds in fifth gear.
Six exterior colour options will be available and standard Bi-Xenon lights will help the new Corsa VXR stand out among its competitors. The front end has been revamped to include larger air intakes and the rear end has an improved spoiler to bolster down force on the rear axle.
Inside there will be Recaro sports seats as standard, a flat bottomed leather steering wheel, sports pedals and VXR themed instruments. Intellilink connectivity for Apple iOS and Android smartphones are also standard.
