The new Vauxhall Corsa GSi has begun to appear in UK showrooms, priced from £18,995 on-the-road.

Powered by a 148bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine, the sporty Corsa GSi goes from 0-60mph in just 8.4 seconds, with a top speed of 129mph. Boost pressure, fuel injection and timing have been specially re-calibrated for the GSo to maximise performance, especially at higher revs. The Euro 6d-TEMP compliant engine returns a combined fuel economy of 47.1mpg, with CO2 emissions from 138g/km.

The GSi’s chassis is based on that used for the Corsa VXR, and like the VXR its suspension boasts Koni Frequency Selective Damping technology. This allows for a rise in damper force when conditions demand it.
Externally, the Corsa GSi is distinguished by large air intakes, a honeycomb grille, deep sill extensions, carbon-look accents, a deep rear spoiler, chrome tailpipe, and red-painted brake callipers. Inside there are sport seats, leather sports steering wheel, aluminium pedals, and Vauxhall’s IntelliLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The GSi also gets dark tinted rear windows, carbon effect exterior mirrors and grille bar, and LED daytime running lights.

An optional GSi Plus Pack, priced at £1,900, adds 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, Recaro leather seats, and bi-xenon headlights with cornering lights.
