Vauxhall have revealed new pictures of the first ever electric Corsa, which goes on sale later this year.
The all-new Corsa-e will be the first in the 26-year history of the Corsa to feature an electrified powertrain. This is in the form of 136bhp electric propulsion system and 50kWh battery, a system that can be 80% recharged in just half an hour at a rapid-charge station. Charging can also be done using an 11kW on-board charger, which comes as standard with the Corsa-e, and also with a home charger.
Performance wise, the Corsa-e can do 0-62mph in just 8.1 seconds, and boasts a 205-mile range which can be extended by up to 40% in Eco mode. The latter is one of three drive modes, along with Sport and Normal. Sport trades a 10% reduction in driving range for extra responsiveness and performance. The Corsa-e uses regenerative braking for increased efficiency, with the excess energy stored in the battery.
Advanced technologies and driver assistance systems on the Corsa-e include camera and radar-based assistance systems, Multimedia Navi Pro with a 10-inch colour touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, wireless smartphone charging, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Side Blind Spot Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, two camera-based automatic emergency braking systems, Drowsiness Detection, Parking pilots and Automatic Parking Assistant, Panorama Rear View Camera, Open & Start keyless locking, and Vauxhall Connect telematics service.
Pricing for the Vauxhall Corsa-e will be confirmed closer to launch.
