It seems as if the age of austerity might nearly be over as new car sales showed their fastest growth for two years during July, according to new figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
It was a good month for Britain's two most popular car manufacturers too. Ford and Vauxhall models accounted for four of Britain's top five favourite motors.
