Nissan fuses pioneering electric innovation and ProPILOT technology to create the new Nissan LEAF, which they are referring to as the most advanced electric vehicle available for the masses.
The new Leaf boasts reems of new tech that will assist the driver in areas of safety, comfort and of course driving and parking. The most important technological advance is the new and improved range of the electric battery, as the new Leaf will take you a whopping 235 miles on a single charge.
Another huge leap forward for the Leaf comes in the styling department. Whether you like a car's aesthetics or not is of course a subjective matter, but as far as we are concerned the new Leaf is a VAST improvement over the previous model, simply because the previous incarnation of the Leaf looked absolutely dreadful. If you disagree then that's fine, but we think you'd be hard pushed to find someone to back you up, other than a fellow member of the Nissan Leaf owners' club perhaps.
Hiroto Saikawa, president and cheif exec officer of Nissan, had this to say:
“The new Nissan LEAF drives Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which is the core brand strategy for Nissan’s future. The new Nissan LEAF, with its improved autonomy range, combined with the evolution of autonomous drive technology, such as ProPILOT Park and the simple operation of the e-Pedal, strengthens Nissan’s EV leadership, as well as the expansion of EVs globally. It also has the core strengths that will be embodied by future Nissan models.”
The new Leaf will be available to buy in Japan from October 2nd and will hit the showrooms in Europe in January 2018.
