The 1 Series has been on the market for ten years and has sold nearly 2 million units, now we can reveal the 2015 model and its changes.
Standard equipment has been improved upon and new BMW engine technology will provide revamped power units in both three and five door options. The new BMW 1 Series also comes with increased use of ConnectedDrive technology allowing greater levels of personalisation.
As ever, a sporting appearance is the aim with the new model and hallmark BMW features include a long bonnet, short overhangs and a set-back passenger compartment. A new lower apron and larger air intakes will join new headlights with LED daytime running lights at the front end; new tail lamps with the signature ‘L’ shape design will use LED technology at the rear.
A 6.5 inch freestanding control display will come as standard and will be surrounded by gloss black panelling and new high quality chrome. A new cloth fabric has been used for seating in what BMW describe as a ‘driver-focused cockpit’.
The new BMW 1 Series is on sale 28 March 2015 priced at £20,245 OTR for a three-door 118i SE and £20,775 OTR for a five-door 118i SE.
