The Suzuki Vitara will be given a facelift later this summer.
From September the model will be available with the 1.0-litre and 1.4-litre Boosterjet turbo petrol engines first introduced by Suzuki in the S-Cross range late last year. These engines replace the current 1.6-litre petrol engine, offering more power and increased efficiency as well as lower emissions. The 1.0-litre Boosterjet unit produces 109bhp, and will feature in SZ4 and SZ-T trim levels, the latter of which has the option of ALLGRIP four wheel drive with manual transmission. SZ5 models get the 138bhp 1.4-litre Boosterjet power plant. Suzuki will confirm precise fuel economy and emissions figures closer to launch.
External changes include new design alloy wheels, redesigned front grille, new lower bumper, and new design LED combination lamps to the rear. Inside is a new soft touch upper instrument panel, and new instrument cluster with colour central information display.
New standard safety technology includes Dual Sensor Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, Traffic Sign recognition, Blind Spot Monitor and Rear cross traffic alert.
Suzuki have yet to confirm pricing for the updated Vitara.
