The recently-announced Ssangyong Tivoli XLV – an extended body version of the existing Tivoli compact SUV – has gone on sale priced from £18,250.
The entry-level model is the two-wheel drive1.6 diesel with manual transmission, while the automatic version comes in at £19,250. Fuel economy is 62.8mpg combined while Stop/Start on manual models helps reduce CO2 emissions down 117g/km. Four-wheel drive models start at £19,500.
Although it shares the same platform and wheelbase as the standard Tivoli, the XLV’s body is 238mm longer aft the C pillar, giving enlarged boot capacity of 720 litres. Safety features include seven airbags, Electronic Stability Program, Active Rollover Protection, Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, Emergency Stop Signal, tyre pressure monitor system, and seat belt reminder on all five seat belts.
Equipment includes dual-zone automatic air conditioning, infotainment system with RDS radio, 7-inch high-resolution touch screen, USB/AUX port, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, Tom-Tom navigation, rear view camera, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, rain sensing wipers, and automatic headlights.
The optional intelligent four-wheel drive system automatically adjusts to the road surface and driving conditions to deliver power to the front and rear drive shafts. Off-road enthusiasts will be interested to know that the ground clearance is 167mm, approach angle 20.0 degrees, departure angle 20.8 degrees, and ramp angle 17.0 degrees.
