The first pictures of what is believed to be the new Subaru WRX concept have been leaked online, ahead of the car's rumoured debut at the New York Motor Show.
As you can see, there's a strong visual link between the concept and the current WRX STI, with a huge bonnet scoop and that unmistakeable blue paint job instantly marking it out as a WRX. The huge rear diffuser, flanked by dual twin exhausts, also hint at the car's performance credentials.
Unfortunately, Subaru has yet to reveal any technical specifications on the WRX STI concept, but it is rumoured that the car will be fitted with a 2.0-litre boxer engine, producing around 300bhp.
It is also unclear whether the production version of the car will make it to the UK. Subaru killed off the WRX and Impreza models in the UK market last December; however, the move was hugely unpopular in petrolhead circles, and if there is sufficient demand, it's highly likely that we'll once again see the WRX in Subaru showrooms.
