Dutch sports car maker Spyker has unveiled a new concept car, the B6 Venator, at the Geneva Motor Show.
It's a good looking thing isn't it? Way back in the early twentieth century, Spyker was a famous aircraft producer and there is evidence of Spyker's aeronautical heritage in some of the B6 Venator's design features, such as the propeller-style alloy wheels and the glass canopy which covers the cabin. Even the dashboard looks like it comes straight from Douglas Bader's Spitfire.
Underneath the Venator's custom-made carbon-fibre body sits a mid-mounted 375bhp V6 engine which sends its power to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox.
Although the car's body is pure carbon-fibre, the Venator sits on an aluminium chassis, giving an overall kerb weight of around 1,400kg.
The B6 Venator is strictly a concept at this stage but it's expected to go on sale in Europe early next year. Spyker has been tight-lipped on how much the car will cost, but expect prices to start from around £100,000.
