A new special edition Jaguar XE has gone on sale priced at £38,295.
Called the XE Reims Edition, it pays homage to the Reims-Geux circuit in Champagne, former home of the French Grand Prix and the scene of the Jaguar D-Type’s maiden victory in the 1954 12-hours of Reims sports car race.
Finished in French Racing Blue, the XE Reims Edition shares the 2-0-litre Ingenium Petrol engine with the current R-Dynamic S model. Each of the limited run of 200 examples will boast a black contrast roof, black mirror caps, black sill inserts, gloss black grille, gloss black window surrounds and vents, and 19-inch five split-spoke gloss black alloy wheels. Other standard features include privacy glass, heated seats, heated windscreen, heated steering wheel, headlight washers, all-LED headlights, Apple CarPlay, rear parking camera, and front and rear parking aids.
The haunting remains of the grandstand and pits still stand beside the former start/finish straight at Reims-Geux, part of a public road. To mark the release of the new XE Reims Edition and the D-Type’s historic win, the Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust has erected a plaque on the preserved former Jaguar pit.
The new Jaguar XE Reims Edition is available to order now.
