Skoda has unveiled a new concept version of its Yeti, dubbed the Yeti Xtreme, which will be making its debut at the Worthersee fan show in Austria next week.
Set to go on show alongside Skoda's new CitiJet convertible city car, the Yeti Xtreme, Skoda claims, "combines the power of an all-wheel drive SUV with strong design elements and equipment features of a racy rally car."
Under the bonnet, the Yeti Xtreme gets a 1.8-lite TSI petrol engine which produces 150bhp and 184lb-ft of torque. The power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox and as a result Skoda claims the Yeti Xtreme will get from 0-62mph in 9.0 seconds and on to a top speed of 119mph.
The Yeti Xtreme is finished in matte-grey paint with the roof and 17-inch alloy wheels painted in bright yellow-green. At the front, there's a new, bigger front bumper with a large air intake and LED headlamps.
At the back, there's a new rear bumper with twin exhaust pipes, and Skoda also claims that the chassis height can be adjusted for what it calls "robust sporting use".
Inside, there are four Recaro sports seats, complete with safety harnesses, carbon-fibre and alcantara trim and a new sports steering wheel with integrated gear shift paddles.
Skoda claims that the Yeti Xtreme is purely a design study and will not be making it into production.
