We appreciate, what with the recent media saturation surrounding the royal sprog, that you might be a bit sick-to-death of new stories about babies. However, Skoda has just unveiled a new product which is so bizarre, we thought it merited a mention.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Skoda vRS Mega Man-Pram. No, we're not making this up.
Skoda describes the pram as, and we quote, "a high performance vehicle that has been designed to provide the ultimate baby transportation experience."
Launched to celebrate the arrival of the Octavia vRS, Skoda decided to give its engineers the task of giving an everyday object some of the qualities of the new car. So the pram gets wing mirrors, hydraulic suspension, 20-inch alloys, huge brake callipers, anti-stress grips (whatever they are) and a headlamp beam for night walks.
In addition to this, the lucky occupant of the pram will also benefit from 'sports-style upholstery' and 'adjustable lumbar support'.
Skoda claims that a recent survey found that 76 per cent of dads would spend more time taking their baby for a walk if they had a more stylish buggy. The firm claims that the Man-Pram is the answer to this dilemma; however, given the gormless far-away look of the emasculated simpleton in the photos above, we'd say that Skoda isn't really succeeding in selling this as a lifestyle choice.
Okay, okay, maybe we're being a bit unfair on Skoda here, especially given that they themselves describe the Man-Pram as "a tongue in cheek sense of what you could experience if you vRS'd your life."
Plus, although the dad in the pictures looks a bit of an idiot, the child appears to be having the time of his life.
