Skoda’s flagship Superb range will benefit from greater fuel efficiency with the introduction of a GreenLine version.
The model will debut at next month’s Frankfurt International Motor Show before joining the recently-launched Superb range later this year.
Powered by a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine, the Skoda Superb GreenLine has a predicted combined fuel economy figure of 76.4mpg with CO2 emissions as low as 96g/km, giving the model a potential range of 1,100 miles on a single tank of fuel. In common with Skoda’s other GreenLine models, the Superb GreenLine comes with start/stop ignition and brake energy recovery, as well as longer gear ratios, Selective Catalytic Reduction, and 16-inch reduced rolling resistance tyres.
Exhaust gases are treated using an oxidation catalytic converter and diesel particulate filter, while reducing agent AdBlue is used to cut down nitrogen oxide emissions. Aerodynamic enhancements to the GreenLine, including lowered suspension and rear spoilers, reduce drag and improve efficiency even further.
Full specification and pricing details for the new Skoda Superb GreenLine will be released closer to UK launch.
