Britain’s roads are currently plagued by a pothole pandemic, and it is claimed that one in seven motorists has suffered damage as a result, but Skoda is now offering its customers peace of mind with a free ‘all around the wheel’ safety check.

The manufacturer has introduced the free service at selected UK Skoda outlets, where approved technicians will check for potentially dangerous tyre, wheel, and suspension damage as well as wheel alignment. Damage inflicted by potholes is often hard for the untrained eye to spot, but could still affect the long term safe operation of the vehicle.

In addition to the free check, which can be booked by contacting your local Skoda retailer, the manufacturer also offers spare wheels, complete with tool kits, from as little as £168 including fitting.

Warren Richards, Head of Service & Parts Operations for ŠKODA UK, commented: “At this time of year especially, it can be hard to spot a pothole whilst driving. Our free 'all around the wheel' safety checks take no longer than 30 minutes and will ensure all is well with the car. Though vehicles don’t always sustain damage, we advise customers not to take the chance and have one of our technicians take a look – just in case.”
