Skoda are celebrating a production milestone as the one millionth third-generation Octavia rolled off the assembly line just three years after launch.
The Octavia has become Skoda’s most successful model ever, with over 5 million produced over the past 20 years and three generations. Last year alone 432,300 Octavia’s were sold globally, up 11% on 2014.
Most Octavia’s are produced in Skoda’s Czech homeland, but is also manufactured in smaller numbers at plants in China, Russia, India, and Kazakhstan.
The current Octavia comes in both hatch and estate form and with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The current Octavia RS is the fastest example of the model yet. The introduction of the Octavia G-TEC added natural gas power to the range, while the addition of the Octavia Scout in 2014 brought robust off-road capability.
