The Skoda MissionL concept car, a model which is said to be close to production, will get its debut at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
The MissionL concept will showcase key elements of the upcoming model line from Skoda, who are gearing up to start a new product offensive, as well as expanding into new markets. The firm have ambitious plans for the future, aiming to reach 1.5 million vehicles sales worldwide by 2018, and the MissionL concept offers a sneak preview of how they plan to achieve this.
The new car is a compact five door vehicle which has been pencilled in for launch in Europe, China and Russia, with an Indian version in the pipeline which will be a compact saloon. This fits in with the firm's internationalisation principles, which will see specific modifications being made to cars sold in specific regions.
Speaking about the MissionL concept and the upcoming new product offensive, the Board Chairman of Skoda, Dr. Winfried Vahland said, "Revealing the look of our new compact model, the MissionL shows exactly the direction our brand is going to take. The world premiere in Frankfurt gives a clear signal that ŠKODA is going full steam ahead now. We are going to present a new vehicle every six months over the next two or three years."
